New Parent Support Page Launched

The Southern Area Outcomes Group were delighted to deliver on another action from their current action plan with the official launch of the new Parent Support page on the CYPSP website:-

Parent Support

The webpage is designed for Parents and Organisations working to support families using group work approaches with information and leaflets, evidence based parenting programmes, development opportunities for practitioners and links and contacts to parenting support.  There is a live calendar of parenting programmes and staff training currently available across Northern Ireland providing times, dates, venues and who to contact to register.

Have Your Say Events – Enniskillen, Strabane and Omagh

Following on from the success of the Department for the Economy multi-agency event in Titanic Belfast and previous “Have Your Say” events for NEET young people, there will be a further 3 young people events in Enniskillen, Strabane and Omagh in the coming weeks. The events are as follows:-

ENNISKILLEN – Fermanagh House – Thursday 14 November 2019 – download flyer

OMAGH – Omniplex Cinema – Tuesday 26 November 2019 – download flyer

All events start at 12.00 noon and finish with complimentary lunch around 1.30pm. The Omagh event also includes a blockbuster movie after lunch. All young people who are NEET are extremely welcome. Information gathered is confidential and anonymous and young people can use their smart phones to participate. If they don’t have a phone that’s ok too.

T:BUC Funding Forums for 2020/21 Applications

The 2020/21 competitions for T:BUC Camps, and Central Good Relations funding programmes are due to open at the end of November 2019. To help you apply, the Executive Office will be hosting three T:BUC Funding Forums in local council areas.

The T:BUC Funding Forums are a great way to find out more about the good relations funding that is available and how to apply for it. Executive Office staff will be available at each forum to talk about your good relations project, with timed slots available each day between 1.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

New Chairperson for CYPSP

We are delighted to welcome Mr Shane Devlin, Chief Executive of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, as the new Chair of the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership.  Shane brings significant strategic health and social care experience, having worked across the service since 1998 in a wide range of operational and management posts.

Shane is looking forward to chairing his first partnership meeting in October and working with senior leaders of all key agencies across statutory, voluntary and community sectors, to improve outcomes for all our children and young people in Northern Ireland.
