Children in Northern Ireland & YouthAction NI are hosting a consultation event for young people to share their views on the Northern Ireland Executive’s Draft Children and Young People’s Strategy 2017-2027. Officials from the Department of Education will be in attendance.

Children & Young People with a disability Webpage now live on CYPSP Website

Launch of Disability Page

August 2013

Members of Sixth Sense, children with a disability group worked alongside the CYPSP information team to design the new page for the CYPSP website for children and young people with disabilities in Northern Ireland.
The page holds information on News and Events, links to searchable databases on local support services and signposting in respect of issues affecting children and young people with disabilities

CYPSP and Mencap Hype Project

Luke Hutchinson, young school leaver from Northern Trust area facilitates workshop with CYPSP

Luke Hutchinson, School Leaver, Teresa Hazzard, Mencap Hype Project and Anne Hardy, CYPSP facilitated a workshop at the 11th EUSE (European Union of Supported Employment) Conference “Building an Inclusive Europe through Supported Employment” at Croke Park Stadium in Dublin on the 11 – 13 June 2013.

The workshop explored issues and highlighted the benefits of collaborative work with a range of stakeholders to overcome barriers in transition for students with learning disabilities from mainstream schools.

Carrickfergus College pupils help the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership to design webpages for Teens

Consultation with Teenagers 11-06-13

Year 11 pupils at Carrickfergus College met with the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) information team today to help design a new page for the CYPSP website. The webpage will be aimed at teenagers and will provide information on the work of the CYPSP and on issues concerning children and young people.

At the workshop the pupils provided invaluable feedback and very innovative ideas for the new web page. Development is underway and the new page will be launched soon.
