RNIB Need to Talk Newsletter

Who could have predicted just how 2020 has turned out…It’s been a difficult time for most people and perhaps more so for anyone who is blind or partially sighted. We want people to get the support they need as soon as possible.

One of the major features that people talk about when they are blind or losing their sight is isolation. As you can imagine, this feeling has been exacerbated during lockdown and difficulties with social distancing.

Through the Need to Talk (NTT) project, sight loss charities RNIB (in Scotland and Northern Ireland) and Fighting Blindness (Republic of Ireland) are working together to support people of all ages, as well as family and friends, to access the emotional and practical support they need to navigate these particularly trying times.

Find out about our newly developed Emergency Mental Health Sessions, and ongoing free counselling and confidence building services, currently taking place online or via the telephone, in our latest Need to Talk Newsletter (attached) or by visiting: https://www.rnib.org.uk/needtotalk

You can access an emergency mental health session or enquire about our counselling and confidence building services by phoning the RNIB Helpline on: 0303 123 9999, or emailing: needtotalk@rnib.org.uk.”
