Bushmills Children and Young People’s Planning Group and young people from Bushmills celebrated the reopening of the Den on Friday 18th November 2011. Extensive renovations have been carried out on the facility, which have made it much more comfortable and welcoming for the young people who use it. Jack Gault, Chair of the Bushmills Children and Young People’s Planning Group said “The DEN has always been about people rather than buildings but the refurbishments demonstrate our on-going commitment to the young people of Bushmills.” One of the young people who regularly attend the Den said that “[the Den] is a great place to go to hang out with my friends” The Den is open on Wednesday and Thursday evenings 6.30pm-9.30pm and Friday afternoon 2pm-5pm. If any young people aged 14-18 are interested they can just drop-in.
