Alcohol Awareness Week 2020 – 15th to 21st June

DAILY UPDATE (17th June 2020)

Northern Ireland’s Alcohol Awareness Week, supported by the Public Health Agency and the five Drug and Alcohol Co-ordination Teams, takes place annually during the third week of June.

For the past few years the campaign has focused on encouraging people to take a closer look at their drinking habits by counting their units to see if they’re staying within the recommended weekly limits. This year everyone is being encouraged to ‘AUDIT’ their drinking.

To check your alcohol intake and whether you’re putting yourself at risk, complete the online Alcohol MOT HERE.

In Northern Ireland over half of young people aged between 11 and 16 say they’ve had an alcoholic drink at some point in their lives. This means that as a parent the subject of your child and alcohol is likely to come up.

Stay safe and stay aware!
