Colin Neighbourhood Partnership (CNP) is continuing to deliver the early intervention Changing Lives programme to communities across Belfast and Lisburn, targeted at parents of children aged 3-7 whose behaviours are consistent with ADHD but are generally too young to have been assessed or diagnosed. The programme consists of ADHD-focused information workshops for parents, workshops for health and education professionals, a non-diagnostic screening process to indicate suitability for the programme, and an extended 20-session delivery of the Incredible Years parenting support programme.

Changing Lives is a three-year partnership initiative funded through the EU INTERREG VA programme, delivered by CNP in Belfast/Lisburn, the Genesis Project in counties Louth and Monaghan, and NHS Highlands in Argyll & Bute (Scotland). Other partners comprise Archways (Dublin) and the Dundalk Institute of Technology, who are responsible for three research and evaluation strands covering impact, cost and process; as well as the development of a new ADHD-focused support app for parents in communities unable to access Incredible Years group programmes.

The Changing Lives team in Colin is currently facilitating five Incredible Years programme deliveries in Colin itself, Lisburn, and in North and South Belfast, and organising a further five to commence in January 2020. Feedback from parents indicates it is having a powerful impact in improving the quality of life within families affected by ADHD-consistent behaviours.
