CYPSP would like to ensure that parents are involved in the design and development of support services for families across Northern Ireland and would value your feedback which will help to inform planning for future services.

The aim of Family Support is to promote and protect health, wellbeing and rights of all children and young people and their families through a range of support services. This can be help within your local community and from family/friends.

Parenting Apart Programme – Parenting NI

Parenting NI are pleased to announce that they will be delivering a Parenting Apart Programme in Belfast this July.  This 6-week programme is aimed at parents who have separated, are separating, divorced or thinking of divorce.  The programme provides practical advice and guidance about what children need to know, and what parents can do to meet their children’s need.  Programme details:

Programme Day:                Every Tuesday

Dates:                                  25 July to 29 August 2017

Times:                                 6pm – 8pm

Location:                            Belfast city centre

Cost:                                    £35 per person

Parental Participation Project

 

 

 

 

Parenting NI are working with agencies and parents across Northern Ireland to facilitate a Parental Participation Project. The project aims to engage front line agencies who work with parents to demonstrate the importance of service user engagement through the children and young people’s sector and the role of parents in a child’s life.

 

Objectives of the project:

  • Give Parents a Voice;
  • Provide an opportunity for parents to be listened too;
  • Raise awareness of the role of parental participation within CYPSP.

Encouraging Healthy Lifestyles Workshops for Parents

Parenting NI in partnership with Public Health Agency through the CLEAR Project are hosting a series of Encouraging Healthy Lifestyle workshops for parents.

The workshop will explore:

  • Health and Wellbeing – A healthy lifestyle can have a positive impact on your mental health and wellbeing
  • Healthy Eating – Exploring portion size and forming good food habits with food
  • Physical Activity –  Encouraging exercise through more family activities
  • Sleep Routine – Develop an effective sleep routine for your family

Downpatrick: 24 January 2017, 10am-12pm at Down Sure Start

Portadown: 30 January 2017, 10am-12pm at NIACRO
