Members of the Fermanagh Locality Planning Group took part in the celebration event setting out information stands to provide information about local services for families.
The family fun event was held at the newly opened community space in Enniskillen Castle on Tuesday 25th June for families who attend the weekly Families Together service. Families Together are a key member of the Fermanagh LPG. Read more ….

Regional BME Parents Reference Group Meeting
The Regional BME parent’s reference group had their third meeting in Parenting NI, Andras House, Great Victoria Street, Belfast on 22 June 2013.
The event celebrates this parent’s reference group now having 64 parents representing a diverse range of communities living in Northern Ireland. This includes Chinese, Ghanaian, Irish Travellers, Indian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Pakistani, Polish, Portuguese, Quechuas, Romanian, Russian, Sudanese and Vietnamese. This group also included a number of asylum seekers.

Education Matters Project, Bushmills
Young people, parents and representatives from the community, voluntary and statutory sector organisations met with political representatives on 21 June 2013 to discuss how to work together to improve educational outcomes for children and young people in the Bushmills area. Young people and parents who attended the event were provided with the opportunity to talk about their educational experiences and aspirations for young people in education in the Bushmills area.
Young people celebrated at CMeB+ (See Me Be Positive) Youth Awards
Inspirational young people from Ballyclare and Rural Newtownabbey were commended for their achievements on 26 June 2013 at the first CMEB+ (See Me Be Positive) Youth Awards at Mossley Mill. Alderman Fraser Agnew, Mayor of Newtownabbey Borough Council, who attended the awards night said: “We often hear about young people in a negative light, so it is great to see so many young people nominated because of the positive impact of their achievements”.
Rural Dungannon Family Fun & Information Day
Over 200 local families across the rural Dungannon area attended a family fun and information day in Fivemiletown College on 21 June 2013. The event highlighted the range of services available across the local area from statutory, voluntary and community organisations. Andrea Sawyers from Augher Primary School said; “Hosting this fair was an identified need in this rural area of Northern Ireland. It was a great opportunity for parents and carers to access information about various organisations and opportunities available to families in rural areas”.
